Hello, reader. Before this gets too cheesy, I just want to thank you for visiting this website. Let’s jump straight to the point (nobody likes a story with bad pacing).
The main features of this website are my blog and my book page.
On my blog, you can expect to find articles under several different categories: discussion of fantasy literature, both popular and obscure; reading tips; overviews of myths and legends; reviews of fantasy books; and announcements in relation to my novels, films, and any other original fiction I publish.
Here is a brief overview of the categories:
Discussion of Fantasy Literature:
I’ll be posting on works such as the Harry Potter series, the Twilight Saga, Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and even books you’ve never heard of (have you ever read The Secret of Nimh)?
Examples may be, “10 Reasons You Wouldn’t Want to be a Twilight Vampire,” or “Questions the Lord of the Rings Left me With.”
(If you’re wondering, yes, these are blogs I will be writing, and, yes, you will be able to read them on this site.)
Reading Tips:
As a writer, I’m also an avid reader…and hopefully you are too! This topic is pretty self explanatory: I’ll offer occasional tips on how to find new books, how to discover new authors, and possibly even a tutorial on how you can make your own bookmarks!
Overviews of Myths & Legends:
Most of my fiction is fantasy oriented, which means you’ll enjoy it best if you’re into vampires. Or unicorns. Or vampire unicorns.
Legends around Bigfoot or alien abductions arise from people swapping rumours…a habit which is the continuation of verbal storytelling. Telling you about The Beast of Bray Road or sharing the different types of dragon species doesn’t feel too off the mark as a storyteller; these legends arose from people spinning their own yarns (whether true or not).
Also, my novels feature ghosts and goblins. If you enjoy reading books featuring ghosts and goblins, then there’s a good chance you’ll enjoy reading about ghosts and goblins in general.
Reviews of Fantasy Books:
These reviews will include books both old and new. I’ll be reviewing the Harry Potter series and the Twilight Saga. I’ll be reviewing books that aren’t out yet. The only prerequisite will be that they are fantastical in nature: fantasy, science fiction, and paranormal horror will be the categories.
Announcements:
I’m a novelist primarily, but I also run a web serial on Patreon and a YouTube channel, Otherworldly Fiction. When I make an announcement, it will be shared here, as well as a video where relevant.
Announcements will be around the creation of new web serials, novel release dates, progress updates around my writing (including book covers and how far along the books are), and book trailers (which can be found at Otherworldly Fiction).
Questions You May Have:
What books do you write?
My main series is The Children of Pandora, which features three protagonists. The books within the series will alternate between the three. I liken it to the Marvel films: each character, such as Iron Man or Thor, had their own arcs, only to come together in The Avengers.
I’m also planning a number of standalone novels and an anthology series. If you want news on any of my books, visit my YouTube channel, Otherworldly Fiction, to keep apprised of any announcements.
What if Patreon is too expensive?
Don’t worry. I don’t have much money either. Some days I question my Netflix subscription.
After an interval of two weeks, my content will be made available for free. This means that if you don’t subscribe, you’ll still be able to enjoy my stories.
My Patreon account will alternate between my ongoing web serial and short stories, which will also be converted into podcast style videos on Otherworldly Fiction. Both the written and video versions will be accessible through Patreon, and free for everyone after two weeks.
At a higher tier, readers can also read (and offer feedback on) chapters of my ongoing novels. These will not be made free, as they are still rough versions of a final product, my books. If you stumble across my Patreon as a casual reader two years later, I’d rather you read the real book than the chapters that are riddled with typos and plot holes.
What do you do on YouTube?
What I do on this blog and on my Patreon. Fridays will be my main posting day, featuring video versions of my blogs. This means I’ll be discussing fantasy literature, offering reading tips, reviewing books…essentially, exactly what I’m doing here. Links to my videos will be in the blog posts. That way, if you prefer listening to reading, the option will be there.
On Mondays, I’ll be sharing readings of my web serial and my short stories. These videos will be made available at the same time as their written versions—if you’re a subscriber on my Patreon, you’ll be able to watch the video. If you’re not subscribed, and you see the video has been posted on Otherworldly Fiction for everyone, that means the written version is out freely too.
Announcements will operate independent of my posting schedule (for example, a book trailer may land on a Wednesday, with the usual content still landing on Monday and Friday). Some announcements may arrive as a comment, not even warranting a video (no one wants to listen to a video of someone talking about their book’s typesetting progress).
Do you have social media handles? Like a normal person?
Yes. You can find me on my Facebook fan page, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube. As far as Twitter goes, I’ll be posting reading tips I’ve stumbled upon or excessive amounts of Lord of the Rings memes; I try to avoid politics, unless absolutely necessary. Across channels, I’ll also share links to my latest blog posts.
I checked out your website and channels, but…there’s no content? Where is everything?
Bear with me while I set everything up. I have to learn how everything works (as well as create appropriate artwork, fill out description boxes, and implement a schedule my procrastinating tendencies can handle).
This post was created on September 23rd, 2020. If it’s September 24th, 2020, when you’re reading this, I’m still setting everything up (and likely cursing at my monitor).
If it’s October 24th, 2020, and everything still isn’t set up, then I need to have my butt kicked.
If it’s September 23rd, 2021, and everything still isn’t set up…then I’ve been bitten by a vampire, and have abandoned my literary career to embrace the lifestyle of the eternally dead.
Are you obsessed with vampires or something?
If you’re sick of vampires…I apologize. Yes, I’m a little (okay, very) obsessed with vampires. I’ll try to keep it fresh, and to a minimum, but everyone needs a guilty pleasure. For some people, it’s wine. For others, it’s trains. For me, it’s vampires.
